Video files were compressed and stored in MPEG2 Video format. Teletext data includes subtitling text captured simultaneously during recording of the broadcast news. The dataset was originally recorded for the purpose of Dr Girija Chetty's PhD thesis in the area of auditory-visual liveness checking, a subarea of auditory-visual speech processing (AVSP) and biometric identification. The dataset has since been used for various research purposes in the broad areas of AVSP and biometrics.
