Ethics approval for collection of the dementia cohorts has been obtained from the South Eastern Sydney Illawarra NSW HREC (HREC10-022, ‘DNA donation for Ageing and Neurodegeneration Research’) and HREC10-092, ‘Blood protein biomarkers for frontotemporal lobar degeneration’) and University of New South Wales HREC (HC10361, ‘Blood protein biomarkers for frontotemporal lobar degeneration’). Ethics approval for collection of the bipolar cohorts has been obtained from the University of New South Wales (HREC10078, “A molecular genetic study of bipolar disorder’).
Participants for these studies (or their next of kin) have consented that the participant’s non-identifiable sample may be shared with approved researchers from academic institutions or companies from Australia or internationally.
