Brief description

The Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) Programme is administered by AusIndustry, a division within the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science.

The CRC Programme aims to foster high quality research to solve industry-identified problems through industry-led and outcome-focused collaborative research partnerships between Industry Entities and Research Organisations.

The CRC Programme contains two funding streams:

  • CRCs to support medium to long term industry-led collaborative research
  • CRC Projects (CRC-P’s) to support short term, industry-led collaborative research

The CRC Programme Guidelines cover all aspects of the programme, including selection round requirements.

Minister's Responsibilities

The Minister has overall responsibility for the CRC Programme and makes decisions including: which CRCs and CRC-Ps will be funded; the level of funding
